Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of UHS , is a 182-bed treatment facility, conveniently located in beautiful central Oakland Park, FL that specializes in the successful treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues for youth, adults and seniors. Our progressive team members in the fields of psychiatry, medicine, nursing, social services, education and activity therapy are all committed to provide compassionate, comprehensive care that uniquely fits the intensity and severity of each patient‘s needs. This commitment extends to the family and community of our patients as a whole.We offer a continuum of mental health and addiction services through an integrated system of inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and ECT programs. Education/Training:Medical Degree from an accredited School of Medicine.Completed Residency in Psychiatry.Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalentExperience:At least one year inpatient psychiatric experience working with patients with needs similar to the patients served by the facility.Licensure/Certification:Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in Florida.Board Certified or Board Eligible as Practicing PsychiatristCurrent Florida Driver‘s LicenseCurrent CPR Certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider)Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of appropriate assessment and evaluation tools and tests, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.Knowledge of milieu management.Advanced skills in medication management.Knowledge of acute adult, adolescent, and child psychological disordersAdvanced knowledge of principles of abnormal psychologyAbility to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation.Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.Sensitive and aware of diverse cultures and their practicesEEO StatementAll UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
