Clinic AssistantUnder the supervision of the Primary Care Provider, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse, the Clinic Assistant (CA) may perform participant care and support services within the clinic at PACE SEMI. The CA will act only within the scope of his/her authority to practice. Specific Duties and Functions:The Clinic Assistant may perform the following functions: Collaborates and communicates with the PACE SEMI team to promote a safe and positive work environment Greet and check-in participants for clinic appointments, including those from ancillary servicesCoordinates and escorts participant throughout center to designated area at appropriate scheduled times. Uses proper participant handling techniques including the use of assistant devices (ie- cane, walker, wheelchair, etc)Collaborates and communicates with clinic staff, transportation, and Day Health Center team re: cancellations, delays, and potential changes to appointments through verbal and electronic meansClerical duties such as: Answer phone, takes messages, and directs calls. Copy, fax, and file documents. Prints documents from electronic medical recordSchedules appointments for participants within electronic medical recordProvides appointment reminder callsCollaborates and communicates with transportation for transport of participant to and from clinic appointmentObserves and reports information to primary care provider and/or nurseObtain and document vital signs, including height and weightAssist with dressing and toiletingCleans and stocks treatment areaManages clean and dirty linenPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:High school diploma or equivalentExcellent Customer service skillsProficient in computer skills- Microsoft OfficeBLSMaintains annual competencies and required trainingsAdheres to policies, procedures, and PACE valuesPrior experience or education working with geriatric population is helpful or preferredWorking Conditions:Physically able to walk, stand, bend, reach, and twist for prolonged periods.Able to lift 40 pounds. May be exposed to communicable disease
