The West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The successful candidate will primarily practice in Morgantown, WV.
Position Overview:
The new Pediatric Cardiologist will join our expanding Division of Pediatric Cardiology, serving patients on the WVU Medicine Children's Hospital campus and throughout the state via our comprehensive outreach program, which includes outreach clinics with diagnostic testing. Our division includes experts in fetal cardiology, general pediatric cardiology, advanced imaging, interventional catheterization, noninvasive and invasive electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, and preventive cardiology.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:Provide clinical services in all areas of General Pediatric Cardiology and focus on TTE, TEE and Fetal EchocardiographyDeliver excellent patient care.Participate actively in the teaching and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.Qualifications:
MD, DO, or foreign equivalent degree.Eligibility for a state medical license.Completion of Pediatrics residency and Pediatric Cardiology fellowship programs, along with subspecialty fellowship or additional training in Fetal and Transesophageal Echocardiography.Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.For appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, a demonstrated track record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals is required.All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.About WVU Medicine Children's Hospital:
WVU Medicine Children's Hospital is a tertiary care center serving West Virginia, Western Maryland, Southwestern Pennsylvania, and Southeastern Ohio. We offer the state's only cardiothoracic surgery program for congenital heart defects, from complex single-ventricle cases in neonates to adult congenital heart disease. The hospital features a robust ECMO program with dedicated pediatric perfusionists supporting both cardiac and non-cardiac cases.
Our new 150-bed Children's Hospital includes:
Dedicated cardiac operating roomsA hybrid cardiac EP and interventional catheterization labA dedicated pediatric cardiac anesthesia team34 pediatric beds, including West Virginia's only Level 4 NICUA dedicated Cancer Institute, a Pediatric Emergency Department with Rapid Care, 15 PICU beds, and 8 CICU bedsThe only Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center in the state, with plans to become Level 1The only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, an epilepsy monitoring unit for children, and Magnet status for nursing excellence.About WVU Health System:
