The Staff Accountant at the Charlotte City Club is responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the Club. This role involves handling day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. Staff accountant works closely with the Controller

Key Responsibilities:

Member Services:

Create and maintain a five-star service culture throughout the club.Leads in a positive and upbeat manner for the members and staff.Address and resolve all member and guest complaints and suggestions that have been directed to Staff Accountant or Accounting Department.Accounting Duties:

Audit, code, and entry of invoices for paymentManage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.Assists with bank reconciliations, including cash flow monitoring.Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes as directed by ControllerAssist with maintenance of the general ledger, posting journal entries as needed.Prepare and file local tax forms.Accounts receivable inquiries, statements, balancing and generating AR month end reports.Support external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.Monitor financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting policies and standards.Prepare periodic financial analysis to support management decision-making.Other Administrative Duties:

End of Day ProcessingAssists in the preparation of the monthly trial balance and resulting financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Financial Activity for the club along with required supporting schedules and other data necessary for financial reports and records.Assists in conducting internal auditing programs to help assure the records are accurately maintained and that established policies and practices are satisfactorily and consistently followedAssists in preparation of accounting reports as necessary and appropriate for dissemination to the Board of Directors, Finance Committee and other club committeesQualifications:

Experience:5+ years of accounting experience required, preferably in a hospitality or club environment.Current knowledge of and ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles, standards, and procedures.Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting and club related software (e.g., Jonas, BeanWorks) payroll systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).Skills and Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.High level of confidentiality and discretion.Working Conditions:
