Join is in our mission to save lives through organ donation!The Clinical Coordinator at Gift of Hope Responsible for evaluating potential organ donors and managing daily referral activity, both through new and ongoing referrals; responsible for timely referral response, assessment, and evaluation of potential organ donors. In this role, you wouold work closely with 1 case at a time, to ensure every opportunity for organ donation is successful, while collaborating with other healthcare professionals.This position is on call, and you will be working from home at times as well as traveling to hospitals to evaluate donation referrals.This is a night shift position, 1900-0700.Compensation range for this position is $34.95-$39.42 per hour.Responsibilities:The following essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.Advance Gift of Hopes mission, vision and core values: providing compassionate service, contributing to outstanding teams and engaging as one of our passionate people committed to a positive culture that embraces diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.Responsible for triage of organ referrals, obtaining clinical information to determine medical suitability, providing clinical assessment to determine organ viabilityCreate case plan for organ referrals including further needs once onsite staff involved.Support staff through the referral process and provide additional education and information surrounding the donation process as neededAssist staff in identifying issues related to the donation process and, in collaboration, create a plan of actionCoordinate onsite staff for organ donors and referral activityEnsure accurate, clear clinical documentation according to current policies and procedures; identify, document, and communicate essential clinical information to associated Gift of Hope staff, transplant center staff, and administratorsFacilitate necessary testing and services, at the direction of the AOC/Medical DirectorProvide all medically relevant information to the ME/Coroner to obtain release for donationCommunicate effectively with families of potential organ and tissue donors to provide information and supportObtain and document authorization of organ and tissue donation in accordance with Gift of Hope policyPerform physical assessment of potential donorsCoordinate medical management of donation after circulatory death (DCD) donors with the hospital team to ensure appropriate hemodynamic statusParticipate in departmental quality assurance initiatives, meetings, educational activities and required training as assignedOther duties as assignedQualifications:The following identifies the minimum education and training required to perform the essential functions of the job.Minimum of one year in Allied Health or graduate RN providing patient care in an acute care setting, or previous OPO clinical experienceOther candidates may be considered on an individual basis at the discretion of management, dependent on aligned job experienceThe following identifies the minimum education and training required to perform the essential functions of the job.Minimum of one year in Allied Health or graduate RN providing patient care in an acute care setting, or previous OPO clinical experienceOther candidates may be considered on an individual basis at the discretion of management, dependent on aligned job experienceExperience and Skills RequiredThe following indicates the minimum skills and experience required to perform the essential functions of the job.
