Reads and completes the operations specified on the job travelers. Interprets blueprints and part specifications to select the correct material, tools, and fabrication processes. Sets up welding machines for welding a variety of materials. Should have a good working knowledge of inspection equipment and be capable of selecting the properinspection tool to verify product conformity to specifications. Serves as a mentor to lower-level welders and assists with coordinating workflow for maximum efficiency.RESPONSIBILITIES:Proficient use of hand and power tools used to prepare parts for welding.Complete routine machine maintenance.Clean welding machines and work area to maintain safe working conditions.Inspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformance to specifications using standard measuring tools.Replace cutting tools and grinding tools as required to maintain part quality requirements.Deburr work pieces as required.Clean parts as required.Capable of reading and understanding blueprints, drawings, sketches, specifications, manuals or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece.Determine the sequence of operations and setup requirements to build work piece to specifications.Working knowledge of processes and needed parameters for the efficient welding of materials including proper welding machine configuration.Working knowledge of the welding characteristics of ferrous metals, (Steel, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Inconel, Hastalloy etc.) non-ferrous metals (Aluminum, Copper, Brass, etc).Capable of fabricating tooling and fixtures required to properly locate and hold parts during welding operations.QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:Welder Level 1: 1-2 years similar welding experience in a precision manufacturing environmentGeneral mechanical skills.Basic blue print skills including basic knowledge of AWS welding symbols.Knowledge of welding the following materials; Stainless Steel, Aluminum, low carbon steel, and high carbon steel.Knowledge of the following equipment: welders/ oxyfuel, forklift, and grinders.Proficient ability to work as a teamBasic familiarity with the use of hand tools.High school diploma or GEDWelder Level 2:Minimum of 5 Years welding experience using MIG, TIG, Ox/Acetelyne, and Short Arc (stick) techniques.Good math skillsGeneral mechanical skills.Basic familiarity with the use of hand tools.Excellent time management skills and ability to work as a teamBasic blueprint skills including basic knowledge of AWS welding symbols.Knowledge of welding the following materials; Stainless Steel, Aluminum, low carbon steel, and high carbon steel.Knowledge of the following equipment: welders/ oxyfuel, forklift, and grinders.High school diploma or GEDWelder Level 3: 10 Years welding experience using MIG, TIG, Ox/Acetylene, and Short Arc (stick) techniques.Specialized training in rigging and OXY Fuel.Good math skills including basic trigonometry.General mechanical skills.Excellent time management skills and ability to work as a teamExtensive familiarity with the use of hand tools.Advanced blueprint skills including knowledge of GD&T tolerances.Advanced familiarity of all AWS welding symbols and their proper application.Knowledge of the following equipment: welders, drill press, blowtorch, press brake, and forklift.Knowledge of welding the following materials: Stainless Steel, Aluminum, low carbon steel, and high carbon steel.High school diploma or GEPreferred certificates and licenses:AWS in D1.1 and D17.1 welding certificatesForklift licenseOther duties as assigned by management**NO CALLS FROM STAFFING AGENCIES OR RECRUITERS PLEASE**
