Purpose:Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an

Training Systems Integrator in Norfolk, VA.The Training Systems Integrator is a member of the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Software and Systems Engineering (SSE) - Integrated Systems Team (IST) in support of the Navy Training Baseline (NTB), Navy Trainers, and the NCTE. The SSE-IST provides systems engineering solutions for the integration of NCTE live, virtual and constructive simulation technologies in support of US Fleet Forces (USFF) and the Number Fleets training and certification requirements. USFF and the Numbered Fleets conduct synthetic training and mission certification events between pierside ships, ships underway, virtual trainers and training centers during Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) events.The Training Systems Integrator performs engineering and project management activities in order to provide integrated solutions for distributed simulations and trainers operating within the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE).Job Description:

Functions as the lead integration engineer for projects involving integration of simulations or trainers within the NCTE. Responsible for all scheduling aspects and de-conflicts against all other SSE-IST related responsibilities. Keeps all other engineering functions within the organization (i.e. networks, operations, information assurance, and software development) and is informed of all implications of the integration event to the NCTE.Leads, via an Integrated Project Team (IPT), NCTE software development resources in cases where integration work requires additional software functionality in NCTE core simulations (e.g. JSAF, JBUS).Familiar with the NCTE Interoperability Standard (NIS) and as such, provides advice and guidance to external simulation/trainer engineers so they are able to create systems that function correctly within the NCTE.Periodically fills the role of technical lead in support of specific training exercises. In this role, the Integration Engineer is the liaison between the NCTE M&S Operations Event Lead and the engineering department and is responsible for identifying and responding to simulation problems, notifying leadership of issues and coordinating with engineering resources to correct or work around the problem in order to ensure training success.Represents the NCTE Interoperability Working Group (IWG) for all domain related aspects.Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline plus 3 to 5 years of directly related experience.(In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 5 years applicable work experience.) Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.)Must have an understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems and be able to use advanced capabilities of these systems.Must understand networking concepts, architectures, and transport technologies like TCP/IP.Must understand network troubleshooting both physical and logicMust be able to utilize network and distributed modeling & simulation tools such as Wireshark, PLEXSYS, and SIMDISMust have knowledge of Distributed Simulation protocols such as High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS).Must be familiar with HLA Federation Object Model (FOM) architecture and/or Object Oriented Design (OOD) concepts and techniquesMust have knowledge of Navy C4I tactical systems such as Link 16 and GCCS.Must have the ability to analyze and troubleshoot distributed simulation problems and provide acceptable solutions or corrections.Must have the ability to provide technical project leadership, establish milestones, estimate resources, and other technical project management skillsMust have excellent written and verbal communication skillsMust have a CompTIA Security + and Linux+ certifications are required for the position and special consideration may be given for candidates with these certifications. If candidate does not already possess these certifications, training and certification exam will be provided for the right candidate.Desired Qualifications

Experience working with Navy systems, preferred.Security Requirements:

Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.Travel Requirements:

Less than 10%If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.

Pay Range:

$85,000 - $100,000 per hour
