SUMMIT Appliance (www.summitappliance.com), a Division of Felix Storch, Inc. is a 50-year-old private business, located in Edison, NJ. We are a manufacturer and distributor of major appliances, including vaccine, healthcare and life science refrigeration. We are adding staff in our Edison NJ, facility to handle our recent growth, and the anticipated growth from the largest product expansion in our history. We seek an individual to join our team.The candidate must have flexible weekday hours. This position will be as assigned (Monday to Friday). Some paid overtime may be required. The Company only uses 24 foot straight trucks with liftgates.
Truck Driver Major Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:•Drivers are responsible for loading, unloading and delivering major household appliances (Appliances include, but not limited to, refrigerators, ranges, chest freezers and more)•Pick up transfer merchandise at NY warehouse and other locations.•Assist the warehouse team with the loading trucks for same day.•Collect COD's as directed.•Check merchandise against bills of lading for accuracy.•Fill out log books and comply with DOT regulations at all times.
Truck Driver Minor Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:•Daily inspection of vehicle for safety.•Attend driver training classes as offered by the company.•Stay current on motor vehicle rules and regulations.•Keep vehicle clean and well maintained.•Report any safety or vehicle deficiencies to management.•Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.•The truck driving is structured around local deliveries, there is no overnight driving. The driver returns to Edison at the end of each day.Minimum Requirements:•High school graduate•CDL Class A or B required with current medical card•3 years driving Class A or B vehiclesAll Summit Employees receive:•Medical/Dental insurance (some employee contribution is required)•Company paid vision and life insurance.•Transit check and 125 medical plans.•401k with a company match.•Paid vacation and sick time.•Discretionary bonuses and profit sharing.
Rate of pay : $21.00-$23.00 / hour depending on education and experience
