Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Business Technology (NBT) is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join our Development team for MES and ERP Solutions and work closely with our team of analysts and app developers. This position provides the successful candidate an opportunity to become a key team player offering technical expertise supporting Nucor's business system development and implementation.
Software Developer Responsibilities:Develop, test, and deliver code that meets defined requirements.Support and document existing and future development.Execute assigned project tasks within schedule.Provide timely and effective user support.Translate business requirements into technical solutions.Work with project leads in developing and executing project plans.Deliver business values Nucor team by developing and coding solutions in existing MES systems (PSI).Develop MES interfaces with other systems - Level 2 and ERP (eBS).Develop MES report solutions - Crystal Report, Power BI, APEX.Observe user feedback to recommend solution improvements.Develop and update technical design documents.Research and evaluate relevant technologies and solutions.Develop and update technical design documents.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer science or related fields, or 3-5 years of experience in PL/SQL and at least one of the popular programming languages (PL/SQL, Python)Excellent understanding of general software application development principles and practices.Preferred Qualifications:
Strong ability to produce readable, maintainable, and shippable code.Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.Experience with the development of PSI or other MES & ERP Business systems.Experience with PL/SQL, REST Web Services, ASP.NET, C#, PythonExperience with version control tools - Subversion, GitExperience with ADO - or other work management toolsFamiliar with Agile methodologyExperience in EBS development.
