Key Responsibilities: All duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and will be utilized in accordance with the basic principles or guidelines of a Nurse Practitioner. Nurse Practitioners will meet the following requirements for work: Perform vital signs and appropriate medical history;Perform independent assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of all illnesses and trauma. Conditions beyond the scope of training and experience of the Nurse Practitioner will be referred to the Clinical Director;Manage chronic health problems;Prescribe indicated medications as directed through utilizing the Soldiers' Home Policy and Procedures Manual. Prescribing narcotic and controlled substances may be authorized as directed by the physician;Administer indicated immunizations;Provide counseling and guidance to patients on the use of drugs, alcohol and/or tobacco, diet, weight control, effects of prescribed medications and treatments, etc.;Order and interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, electrocardiograms, audiograms, and perform tympanometry and the necessary diagnostic studies;Perform physical exams;Assist other medical personnel with minor surgery procedures as directed by the Soldiers' Home Policy and Procedures Manual;Document clinical information on indicated reports or forms as directed by the Soldiers' Home Policy and Procedures Manual;Adhere to the requesting State of Kansas agencies Policies and Procedures;Assume responsibility for personal growth and development in participation of continuing education, workshops, seminars, in-service programs, and orientation programs;Accept and fulfill obligations of scheduled assignment which has been requested and confirmed.Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.Currently registered with the Kansas State Board of Nursing.At least one year of experience in an area of placement within the past year.Ability to communicate, be observant, and make professional decisions.EEO Employer: Pharmavise Consulting Corp. is an equal opportunity employer.
