Job DescriptionThe Sr. Accountant is responsible to ensure financial statements accuracy by setting up internal controls and adopting proper policies for financial reporting. Responsible for performing account analysis to ensure financial information has been recorded correctly in accordance with GAAP. Perform calculations of the companys position, interface/assist with collateral and financial audits.
Main ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the controller and other members of management to ensure good accounting practices by developing rules and procedures for others to follow. Demonstrate critical thinking by identifying errors and risks that could have a significant financial impact on the companys performance.
Collaborate with the controller to review financial data on a monthly basis to ensure fairness and completeness of the data
Work closely with the controller to perform monthly consolidation/month-end close and analysis of financial results making suitable observations and recommendationsReview/analysis of monthly closing reportsReview G/L accounts on a monthly basis, including investigating and determining potential impacts of different activities on financial statementsOversee SG&A variance and trend analysisAnalysis/review of report identifying issues and opportunitiesReview monthly inventory reconciliation (AP/AR) and products aging while making suitable observations and recommendationsSupervise accounting functions as neededLead AuditsAssist with any other finance issues as needed
Requirements:Bachelors degree in Accounting / Finance or related experience7-10+ years prior Acct./Finance experienceCPA Certification is a +Futures and mark to market proficiency highly preferredStrong time management/organizational skillsProven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilitiesPosition requires the ability to work independently and as a team playerExcellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsExceptional customer service skillsStrong computer skills; Excel proficiency (MUST)Fully bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
