Trillium Professional is now seeking a Senior Audit Associate in San Diego!
Staff Audit Associate - Individuals at this level normally have a college degree with a major in accounting or other related business field and have from 1 to 4 years' experience.
Staff accountants are expected to have:-Good understanding of accounting concepts-Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.2-Relevant work experience (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs)-Looking for individuals with strong technical and organization skills-Strong written and verbal communication skills-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with project deadlines and the ability to multitask.-Able to work flexible hours as needed.-Authorized to work in the United States
In this position they will:-Become familiar with the firm's policies and procedures.-Understand professional standards and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.-Progress professionally by working toward passing the CPA exam as soon as possible.-If assigned primarily to financial statement engagements:-Become familiar with pronouncements of the FASB, AICPA, and when assigned to governmental engagements, the GAO and GASB.-Become proficient at preparing financial statements.-Obtain exposure to various types of financial statement engagements offered by the firm.-Assume responsibility for unaudited financial statement engagements or segments of audits under the supervision of more experienced staff.

Qualified applicant should possess:-BA/BS in Accounting-Enough hours to sit for the CPA exam-2+ years of related experience in public accounting-Working knowledge of GAAP-Excellent communication and leadership skills-Strong client interaction skills-Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail-Ability to meet deadlines-Experience with nonprofits, affordable housing, and pension plan audits is preferred-Proficiency with MS Office & QuickBooks
