Job Summary:

Manage accounts payable; implement process improvements, internal controls and improved documentation; attend departmental meetings. Manage cross training among staff to ensure backup support is always available. Assist with budgeting, financial reporting and variance analysis. Provides direct support to Accounting Manager and Controller. Supervisory, leadership and coaching of staff.

Essential Duties:

Oversee accounts payable processing and subcontract payments and analysis for both the North Florida and Suncoast entities, to include assurance of proper coding and matching of expenses in the proper period and invoice approvals. Prepare, review and approve AP and month-end journal entries and provide timely to Accounting Manager.Oversee accurate reporting and reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts, including the accounts payable aging report, monthly. Provide necessary information regarding weekly and monthly cash disbursements to Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, and Operations Controller.Oversee staff workload and workflow, staff development, recognition, performance management, policy interpretation and enforcement, communication, etc.Maintain appropriate controls to support single audit requirements as well as other audits. Work in conjunction with the Accounting Manager and Operations Controller on contract requirements for fixed assets and other expenditures.Support the annual budgeting process under the guidance of the Accounting Manager.Support the compilation of documentation for auditsPerform other duties as requestedQualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university is preferred, or the equivalent number of years of accounting and/or child welfare experience.

Experience:

Experience and understanding in areas of accounting processes and procedures, especially payables and grants. Must be experienced in using accounting software and non-profit accounting experience is preferred. Also preferable is experience using the state's Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) platform.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:Valid driver's license.
