Registered Nurse (RN) New Grad Neuro Stepdown

University Hospitals, Chardon, Ohio, United States, 44024

Lerner Tower 4 is a unit dedicated to the care of patients with Neurological and Neurosurgical diagnoses. The unit offers 3 levels of care including intermediate, telemetry and floor. Our Neuroscience Nurses are skilled in helping patients and families manage new diagnoses and sometimes uncertain futures related to their neurologic condition. The neuro intermediate care unit (NIU) provides a unique level of care for patients - higher level of care than the tele/floor, but less acute than the care provided in an ICU.

Patient diagnoses cross the neurological spectrum including all levels of stroke and patients with intracerebral and subarachnoid hemorrhages, neuromuscular disease, epilepsy and rare neurologic illness such as prion disease. Many of the Neuroscience patients have medical co-morbidities including diabetes and hypertension.

LT4 is a recipient of the Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. We are recognized by the Joint Commission and the American Heart/American Stroke Association for the high quality of care that we provide to patients with stroke in a quaternary care environment.
