Ayurprana is now opening a facility called So-Hum Mountain Healing Resort, that will help facilitate healing at all levels for an individual to release body work, detox panchakarma therapies, and educational class (yoga, breath work, meditation, nutrition, etc...) to help support an individual in his / her healing process.Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Sohum Mountain Healing is a space where nature and ancient wisdom come together to create transformational experiences. We offer healing experiences that promise to rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit. Guest can spend their days immersed in the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga to allow themselves a space to reflect, heal, and awaken to a greater sense of Self.Position StatementThe Massage Therapist, or Massage Practitioner, is responsible for providing relaxation or treating body pain and discomfort through physical touch and moving a client's muscles. To achieve maximum success, the Massage Therapist will discuss with the client and determine the techniques appropriate to address the client's needs. Techniques may include Abhyanga therapy, Shirodhara, sweat therapy, and other ayurveda bodywork techniques. Medicated oils are used for the body and essential oils are used for the marma points. The Massage Therapist may also be guided by an ayurvedic practitioner on treatment recommendations for a client.Treatments, including therapies in the Panchakarma program, facilitates the cleansing, well-being, and rejuvenation of each client. The Massage Therapist shall create a caring and healing environment for the client and their journey.This is a contract position. Approximately 32-40 hours per week 8:30am-5:15pm, lunch 1-2pm. Contractors are paid monthly. Pay is based on treatments provided ranging from $30 to $45 per treatment. Tips paid in addition to rates per treatment. Requires full day availability 4-5 days per week. Responsibilities- (not limited to) Prepare therapy room before each treatmentPrepare oils, linens, and set the room properlyPerform therapies based on client needsMaintain a clean and orderly work areaPerform synchronized massage with a partner for Abhyanga treatmentsClean treatment room after each therapy sessionAdequately stock supplies and take out linen always keeping hallways clean and clearAttend periodic training, review sessions, and seminars as required by the department or administrationMaintain proper licensure at all timesCreate and maintain an environment of care and healing for clients and departmentCommunicate, support, and interact with all staff in a positive and harmonious mannerMaintain proper time management by arriving 15 minutes prior to the first scheduled treatment and making all appropriate preparations to receive clients on timeBe flexible and able to adapt to change whet RequirementsQualifications:Massage experience requiredMust have an active Massage Therapy license in North CarolinaDesire and ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with clients and staffDeep desire for health and wellness. Knowledge or experience in Ayurveda preferredPhysical Requirements - (not limited to)Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, crawl, reach above and below shoulders, repetitive arm and wrist use, climb ladders and stairs, and walk on uneven surfaces.Must be able to operate motor vehicle or provide transportation to travel to various properties in city.Must be able to see and hear.Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.Must be able to work around moderate noise level.
