The Broadband Network Technician I is responsible for detecting, troubleshooting and resolving system outages for data, video, and telephone. This role will be responsible for emergency restoration of coax, underground cable, maintenance of power supply, leakage and splicing. The BNT I is required to maintain documentation as needed. This role participates in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Where you will work:

This position will be based in Astounds Crestwood, IL office, and would be an in office/field role.

A Day in the Life of the Broadband Network Technician:

Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages

Emergency coax restoration

Underground cable

Maintenance (power supply, actives)

Leakage

Splicing

Documentation

Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation

Other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Table:

2+ years experience as a Technician in the Telecommunications industry (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial( HFC ) network experience preferred)

Proficiency in problem-solving, time management, and basic computer skills

Experience with power tools, reading and interpreting NIMS and AutoCAD maps

Must possess a working knowledge of Ohm Law and Outside Plant operations

Strong customer service skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team

Must possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record compliant with the company policy

Education & Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Certifications in Bucket Truck (OSHA, and Ladder Safety preferred)
