JOB SUMMARY:

To drive the van bus to functions as requested for resident functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as well as personnel matters as confidential informationComplies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practicesDrives the bus/van vehicle in a safe manner according to facility policyOperates all functions of vehicles in a safe mannerUses communication equipment for any routine or emergency situationPromptly reports any and all suspected mechanical problems to the appropriate personMaintains an accurate and current log (book) for each tripResponsible for fueling vehicles after use. In some situations maintenance may be responsible for fueling. If maintenance performs the fueling then drivers will need to report and provide ample notice on a vehicle which is low in fuelPerforms other functions as directed by the supervisorQUALIFICATIONS:

Co-workers who drive the 23 passenger bus are required to have their CDL license. Included with the CDL is the physical that must be passed and random drug screening per the federal requirements of the CDLAble to drive the van/bus in rural or urban areasAbility to drive the van/bus in a way that residents feel safeTreats the residents with dignity and respect

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Assistsin the loading and unloading of residents. May sit for several hours. Drives invarious types of traffic/weather conditions, bending, lifting and loading smallpackages up to 50 lbs. several times throughout the shift, able to change tiresand sitting for long periods of time.
