WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Sr Financial Analyst role, working in Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is critical to the Corporate FP&A team as it partners across multiple departments to provide reporting and insightful analysis. As a Sr Financial Analyst, you will be involved in all planning activities and produces key management reports used to evaluate the financial performance of Ascend.

This position will work a hybrid schedule from our Leawood, KS office location.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME

Prepare reports and analytics on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis to enable business decision making; highlight important takeaways and insights in concise executive summariesCollaborate across FP&A and with Finance Executives to prepare important presentation materials. Requires frequent communication with Senior Executives to determine how best to articulate financial results and plans/budgets.Model budget, forecast and long-range plans, summarizing variances, risks and opportunities; use business judgment to determine when to drill into underlying detailStreamline reporting packages and make recommendation for improvementsCollect, organize, and analyze data via FP&A system to create meaningful analyses that drive insightsPerform ad-hoc reporting and financial analyses at multiple levels of complexity, including cost analysis, and financial and expense performance comparisons

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Bachelor's degree in related fields, such as Business Administration, Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, or other areas combined with relevant work experience is required5+ years of Finance/Accounting experience; prior FP&A experience strongly preferredSolid grasp of finance with very high level of attention to detail and quality outputAbility to present financial information and models in a concise and easily comprehensible mannerCollaborative in approach and working style with an ability to interact with senior executivesComfortable working in an environment with frequent tight deadlinesAdvanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Datawarehouse, Microsoft BI or Tableau background a plus. Prior experience with FP&A system preferredBENEFITS
