Voted Best Employer and Best Place to Work in the Flathead!Mortgage Loan Originators (MLO) originate a high volume of mortgage loans (in accordance with Glacier Bank goals) and manages the entire loan origination process. The incumbent will also work to develop relationships with target customers in order to create additional new business.Employee will have extensive contact with customers, vendors, the general public, and bank staff and will interact in a professional and courteous manner, and conduct him/herself in such relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall efficiency and image of the bank.Essential FunctionsMeet or exceed loan production goal as set annually by manager in conjunction with goals set for Glacier Bank annual production.Interview credit applicants and determine borrowing requirements. Obtain complete application and analyze financial information. Conduct credit investigation. Provide credit approval (subject to appraisal and other key conditions) within credit approval authority and automated underwriting guidelines.Identify and develop relationships with potential new customers. Maintain and develop an ongoing relationship with current customer base. Continuously project an image of professionalism and concern in dealings with the public. Promote Glacier Bank loan programs to best meet goals.Work closely with loan processor as a team to efficiently close all loans in a timely manner with proper documentation. Work with loan processor to ensure that all disclosures reports, financial statements, tax returns, title insurance commitments and appraisals are reviewed prior to closings.Keep current on loan programs and lending (federal and state) regulations as well as all compliance and bank policies and procedures. Respond to audit reports as requested or required.Meet all requirements under RESPA. Respond to any audit reports and keep current with all lending (federal and state) regulations.Additional ResponsibilitiesService Quality embrace service pledge and provide extraordinary and consistent service to all internal and external customers. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.Represent Glacier Bank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive can-do attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy.Additional duties as requested or assigned.

About You:Required QualificationsPursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all employees who will be engaged in residential loan mortgage originations (as defined by the SAFE Act) must register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE ACT requirements. MLOs (Mortgage Loan Originators) will be assigned a Unique Identifier, which must be provided to applicants as required, following the procedures of Glacier Bancorp, Inc. Also, Per GBCI Quality Control Guidelines, employee will be required to pass screening against the HUD Limited Denial of Participation (LDP), GSA Excluded Party List, and FINRA - OFAC Sanctions Program List. Failure to register successfully or to maintain a status in good standing with NMLS, as described under the SAFE Act, or pass required screenings, as described in GBCI QC guidelines, will affect your eligibility for continued employment.At least one year sales and customer service experience.Previous lending experience and/or education.High degree of attention to detail as well as excellent organizational skill(s) to perform in a fast-paced environment.Must have ability to prioritize and organize heavy workload(s) and demonstrate effective time management skill(s).Must have the ability to work in a professional manner and consistently demonstrate courtesy, customer service, and tact in a fast-paced/deadlines-oriented environment.Ability to work quickly and accurately: perform effectively under pressure; meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines and make decisions based on regulation(s), company policy(s), knowledge and experience.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Basic computer skill with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, ten-key, and general computer applications.Working knowledge of standard office equipment.High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred QualificationsThree to five years experience as a Real Estate Loan Originator.A moderate level of banking knowledge desired.Work EnvironmentMust be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.Must be capable of occasional travel (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
