Job Objective:Assists the Accounting Supervisor in the preparation and recording of the company's monthly marketing and trading activities.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Confirm and verify volume and price data with third party counterparts prior to monthly settlements in WolfePak.Prepare and send out monthly purchase and sales statements.Field third party inquiries concerning assigned customers.Communicate effectively with other internal groups.Prepare monthly journal entries to record transactions into the general ledger system and prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the validity of financial positions and operating results, with emphasis on open receivables and payables.Assist in the monthly severance tax calculations, filings and remittances.Prepare monthly regulatory reports.Gather appropriate transactional detail for third party audit requests.Other Job Responsibilities:
Completes special projects related to marketing accounting as assigned.Maintains employee confidence and corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.Adheres to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.Supports company vision and mission.Other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years of prior work experience in a crude oil, natural gas or NGL marketing and trading activity, risk control, accounting, or contract administration function, preferably in the energy industry.Solid accounting fundamentals including journal entries, financial statement analysis, revenue and cost recognition concepts and inventory valuation.Analytical and detail oriented.Proficiency in data management including spreadsheet proficiency.Ability to solve problems accurately.Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and other departments.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex financial information into an organized and presentable manner.Outstanding administrative and organizational skills.Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).Preferred: SAP, WolfePak
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting; other field of study may be considered when combined with a minimum of 12 completed accounting hours.
