Systems Analyst III

Performs complex computer systems analysis work. Work involves analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems, as well as coordinating the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of systems. Primary focus of work will be on managing batch reporting processes, SharePoint workflows and other Power Automate and PowerApps services, assisting with the creation of data sources for use in Tableau and Power BI, and the building and configuration of applications on the Microsoft Power Platform.Work will also focus on the governance and administrative processes for Power Platform services.Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

This position:

•Monitors batch processing execution, developing new processes, and repairing/altering existing processes as needed.

•Creates and maintains agency SharePoint workflows and other Power Automate services.

•Creates and maintains small agency applications built on Microsoft PowerApps or Power BI platforms.

•Creates and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical and user documentation.

•Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

This position requires:

•Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in data processing, computer science, business administration, or a related field is generally preferred.

•Two years' experience working with SharePoint and building automation processes using Microsoft Flow or Power Automate.

•Two years' programming experience in Microsoft Dynamics/PowerApps.

•Education and experience relevant to position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Preferences for this position include:

•Two years' recent paid systems analysis experience.

•Two years' experience writing Perl, SQL, and PL/SQL to interact with an Oracle (or similar) database.

•Two years of professional development experience working with Tableau Desktop or Microsoft Power BI and building related data sources.

•Two years' working experience with Agile Scrum or Test-Driven Development methodologies.

•Working knowledge of ITIL- and OWASP-based best practices and coding to the Americans with Disabilities Act, as Amended (ADAA).

Additional job details:

This position requires regular work attendance. The position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. If eligible, the employee must have a secure, dedicated workspace with reliable broadband internet service. The ideal candidate must be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours.

This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

•State laws, rules, procedures, and regulations relevant to job requirements.

•Principles, practices, and techniques of computer programming and systems analysis.

•Perl, SQL, and PL/SQL scripting languages.

•The general use of SharePoint, as well as the building of automation processes using Microsoft Flow and Power Automate.

•Microsoft Dynamics/ Power Application forms and/or Power BI platform application development.

This position requires demonstrated skill in:

•Problem solving and critical thinking.

•Using Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.

•Using personal computers sufficient to enter and extract data from related systems and programs such as Centralized Accounting Payroll and Personnel (CAPPS) and other systems required to perform the job.

This position requires the demonstrated ability to:
