Description

Under general supervision, this position provides a visual security presence to ensure that visitors have a safe and pleasant experience while visiting the building.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Ensure the safety of guests, employees and company assets through constant patrol and observation of all assigned areas and reporting activities in accordance with departmental standard operating proceduresPromote positive and courteous public relations to all tenants, visitors and guestsMonitors and maintains control of facility access points and permitted areas of entry and responds to sounding alarms ensuring the safety of employees, guest and company assets; monitor visitor activitiesGain and maintain proficiency with life safety system and central security panel of buildingsPrepares reports based upon observations, information and occurrences to ensure compliance with departmental standard operating proceduresCommunicate with supervisor or manager on safety issuesTour properties and monitor building operationsMaintain daily logs and shift reportsAdhere to Security Policies and Procedures manualAll other duties as assignedQualifications

Experience, Knowledge and Education Required:

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)Thorough knowledge of all emergency equipment, including but not limited to fire alarm systems, fire pumps, access systems, water risers, cutoff valves and electrical circuitsAdvanced customer service skills to diplomatically communicate with customersAbility to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently; excellent attention to detailAbility to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling and proof reading skills and follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and clients/customersAbility to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgmentAbility to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum directionHigh school diploma or GED equivalent required2+ years of related experiencePrior experience in law enforcement, military and/or security preferredNon-Commission license preferred, or ability to obtain a valid, Non-Commissioned Security License through the Texas DPS Private Security BoardRequires acceptance of any assigned shift including weekendsRequires flexibility to accept assignments at any of our properties in the greater metropolitan area of the city / county in which you are hiredRequires you provide your own transportation to / from any job site assignment.Requires flexibility to work overtime with same day notice, not to exceed 16 hours in a dayRequires following established procedures for calling in absent and/or requesting time off
