Resideo is seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented, Senior Technical Accountant in our Financial Reporting group who enjoys working on interesting and complex accounting issues.

The Senior Technical Accountant will report to the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting. This position will involve researching technical accounting matters, preparing technical accounting whitepapers, developing and maintaining accounting policies, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, and implementing accounting standards alterations. This role will assist in driving accounting excellence across the accounting organization, maintaining a strong internal control environment, and supporting internal and external audits. The position will interface with various levels of personnel across the entire organization and is required to partner with parties within and outside Resideo to deliver accurate and timely financial information.

JOB DUTIES:

Research technical accounting matters and prepare technical accounting whitepapers on topics such as business combinations, stock compensation, derivatives, leases, revenue recognition, etc.Assist with the development and maintenance of accounting policies with a focus on standardization and simplificationAssist entity and segment-level accountants with the accounting for unique transactionsStay up to date on changes to US GAAP and SEC reporting and implement new accounting standards updates and SEC regulationsAssist with ensuring compliance with SEC, US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley regulationsPrepare and present potential solutions and alternative accounting approaches in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulationsWillingness to learn, grow, and develop to become a subject matter expertActively participates in the documentation of required disclosures associated with our quarterly and annual filings of Forms 10-Q/10-KAbility to evaluate business situations and identify the key accounting issues; analyzes the impact of each solution; selects appropriate solutions and assists in implementing such solutionsPresent critical information to other departments, management, and/or external auditors in a clear and concise mannerCommitment to being proactive over reactionary while applying critical thinking skillsYOU MUST HAVE:

Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, CPA or MBA5+ years' accounting/finance experience or equivalent public accounting experience3+ years' experience with quarterly and annual SEC reports3+ years' experience interpreting or implementing complex accounting standardsWE VALUE:

For example, the base salary for this role in Melville, NY is $90,666 to $157,734 per year. Within a range, Resideo determines base pay for an individual based on various factors, including market conditions, skills, and experience.Benefits - Resideo provides comprehensive benefits, including life and health insurance, life assistance program, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, disability insurance, 401k Plan, vacation & holidays.
