Arizona Spine and Joint Hospital is seeking a PRN Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist.

The Lab Technician or Technologist is responsible for:
  • All departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision, and facility goal.
  • The Tech needs to be efficient in performance of services provided by the clinical laboratory
  • This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians and employees.
  • The Technician/Technologist communicates the needs of the department to the Laboratory Manager.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor degree in medical technology or an appropriate biological/chemical/medical science from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in an accredited laboratory.
  • Certification by one of the following accrediting agencies: CLS(NCA) and or qualify under CLIA CFR subpart M 493.1449 MT(ASCP) or categorical, MT(HEW), MT(AMT),
  • Knowledge of governmental and regulating policies/standards.
  • Demonstrate competent in handling the needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, Medicare, and all other regulatory standards affecting laboratory is encouraged.
  • Must possess ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Possess the ability to deal tactfully with all types of personnel, medical staff and the public.
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions.
