Job Summary
As an offsite/off-license facility, the NP responsibilities escalate in complexity due to the remote nature of clinical staffing and patient care. The NP's responsibilities include performing bone marrow biopsies, patient triage, critical value reception, and covering orders and time-specific requests.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $95.69 - $124.10 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) year experience as an oncology NP in an outpatient adult oncology program.
- Bone marrow biopsy aspiration training.
- Demonstrated competence in the following areas: clinical practice, communication, clinical case management, and problem identification/resolution.
- Flexibility to orient and work at multiple Ambulatory/Outpatient UCSF Cancer Center locations.
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations and in varying schedules as outlined.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in clinical database entry.
- Multi-lingual: Spanish or Cantonese.
License/Certification
- California driver's license (CDL) if required for position.
- Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by the first day of work.

- Current and active RN, NP, and Furnishing license in California.
- Completed a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner.
- Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer).
- Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments.
- Current AHA BLS.
- Current AHA ACLS.
- State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice.
- Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1.
UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
