Position Overview
The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Branch Manager in achieving excellence in all facets of branch operations including production, inventory management, deliveries, team development, customer value, and overall financial performance and growth.Work Location:JK Enterprise Landscape Supply, 15900 US-29, Centreville, VA 20120JK Enterprise Landscape Supply, 42551 John Mosby Hwy, Chantilly, VA 20152More about JK Enterprise:JK Enterprise Landscape Supply, although recently acquired by SiteOne, has been a leading bulk and bagged mulch delivery service in northern Virginia and Maryland for over 25 years. Their mulches, compost, topsoils, and soil amendments are all made in Virginia out of the finest quality materials. Annually, they produce an estimated 600,000 yards of mulch and woodchips, 300,000 yards of topsoil blends, and 100,000 yards of compost.Today, JK operates two production facilities, in Centreville and Culpeper, Virginia. The centrally located Culpeper site comprises 56 acres and includes a warehousing facility, as well as a building dedicated to bagging bulk forest products. Grinding and screening of organic materials are done at both locations. JK also operates contractor yards in Chantilly, Warrenton, Alexandria, and Davidsonville, MD. https://www.lumberjake.com/ .What you’ll do:In collaboration with the Branch (Production) Manager, lead a team and recruit top talent to determine individual strengths and weaknesses of branch associates.Actively coach and mentor to achieve high performance and to facilitate their long-term career development at SiteOne.Train and coach all branch associates in customer value best practices and facilitate a culture whereby every team member is obsessed with customer success.Promote an incident-free environment by emphasizing safety daily through leading by example. Encourage a strong safety culture through workplace organization, training and executing policies.Implement strategy to achieve goals and monitor key performance metrics to assess daily, weekly and monthly progress and to track improvement initiatives.Work with Branch Manager to review performance metrics to track progress and continuously adjust strategies to achieve area goals in light of changing market conditions.
Skills We Are Seeking
3 to 5 years of managerial experience including leadership, issue management, motivation and team building preferred.Must be mechanically inclined and capable of supervising the grinding operation and the equipment associated with it.Must be familiar with the operation of heavy equipment.
