Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience
Terrific Major Gifts Officer ("MGO") position with an international wildlife conservation nonprofit. The MGO will be joining the organization during a time of planned growth. The role will be responsible for the full fundraising lifecycle of individual donors and prospects capable of giving $10k+. The MGO will implement strategies to increase individual giving by cultivating relationships with new prospects and identifying existing donors with increased giving capacity. Candidates should have approximately 5-8+ years of fundraising experience and possess a proactive entrepreneurial mindset. This position operates remotely and it is preferred that candidates are based in Washington, Oregon, Maryland, Colorado, or Wisconsin.
Responsibilities:
Manage the full fundraising lifecycle for a portfolio of individual donors and prospects capable of giving $10,000+
Create and implement fundraising strategies to grow and develop the donor base, including moving current donors to higher levels of giving
Collaborate with other development staff to integrate fundraising strategies
Meet with donors and prospects, create written proposals, and secure new donors
Perform donor recognition and stewardship
Assist with fundraising events
Collaborate on the planning and execution of annual giving campaigns
Qualifications:
5-8+ years of relevant fundraising experience
Excellent relationship building skills and demonstrated track record of securing 5+ figure gifts
Ability to interface at all levels, including with the Board
Comfortable working independently in a remote capacity
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Entrepreneurial mindset and proactive
Interest or prior experience in wildlife conservation or a related area is a plus
Ability to travel periodically, including internationally
