We are seeking passionate individuals for the role of Administrator II (OIG Investigator Supervisor). The main purpose of this position will be to provide direct supervision and oversight to OIG investigators responsible for investigating inquiries related to allegations of administrative and criminal violations by and against employees and service providers involving collusion, corruption, misappropriation of Department assets, mismanagement, fraud, waste, and abuse of authority, excessive use of force, assaults, child abuse, child neglect, sexual abuse, serious injuries, escapes and AWOLs, gang-related inquiries pertaining to youth gang involvement, youth gang membership, and collection of gang intelligence within Department operated facilities and those operated by private vendors licensed by DJS as well as conducting investigations of the aforementioned on an as-needed basis.As the Investigator Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for directing the day-to-day work of the Investigators in initiating and conducting investigation assignments, reviewing Investigative Reports, reviewing Gang Reports, reviewing Safety and Security Reports, managing allegation inquiries, and maintaining the Incident Report and Gang Database. The Investigator Supervisor is responsible for executing these functions in accordance with OIG standards and procedures as set and directed by the Inspector General, DJS policies and procedures, and COMAR regulations.This position relates to the Department’s mission to maintain a balanced and restorative juvenile justice system that embraces accountability, competency and character development, and public safety principles by providing an internal review of the organization’s personnel and programs in a performance-based, results-driven environment, as well as sharing a vision to improve the quality of life for youth in the Department’s care and custody.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.Experience: Five years of administrative staff or professional work.Notes:Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:The preferred candidate for this position may possess any of the following qualifications:Thorough knowledge of facility, community, and licensed provider DJS policies and procedures.The ability to maintain, organize, and review investigative reports for grammatical errors and accuracy.Thorough knowledge of Safe Measures and ASSIST for gang alerts and retrieving data.LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION:This recruitment is limited to current DJS-OIG-Investigation Unit employees only.LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
