Manage a team of Reporting Analysts and Architects engaged in the acquisition, analysis, and validation of internal and external data sets in support of the healthcare enterprise. Align data products with University of Iowa Health Care initiatives and goals, partnering with departments to provide results for informed decision making.Position ResponsibilitiesOrganize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective management of analysts/architects and effective collaboration with stakeholders.Develop, implement, and continuously improve data product lifecycle processes to maximize team effectiveness and quality.Participate with management in the review, recommendation, and prioritization of requests for data, reports, and projects.Lead business requirements gathering and manage a centralized repository of notes, documentation, code, and catalog of content.Utilize all Epic delivered content in decision tree process to embed a consistent and standard method of analytics content into workflows.Lead development of front-end reporting solutions, metrics, reports, dashboards, and self-service reporting tools using various reporting applications (i.e., Epic Slicer Dicer, RWB, Radar dashboards, 3rd party BI tools).Provide regular feedback and updates to leadership and key stakeholders.Maintain awareness of latest developments in key areas of responsibility and bring forward opportunities that have the potential to benefit the organization.Ensure data quality standards are met in all output through conducting quality assurance testing in QA and end user acceptance testing.Ensure data security standards are met in support of company policy, procedure, education, and training of data privacy and security.Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders.Ensure that business needs, technical solutions, and governance are in alignment.Hire, develop, and manage the performance of staff.Assure staff is compliant with UI and UI Health Care policies and procedures.Identify professional development opportunities and encourage continuous learning.Conduct and/or participate in one-on-one and/or group meetings characterized by respect and honesty and hold participants to similar standards and ethics.Employ appropriate techniques for maintaining team enthusiasm, energy, and focus.Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff at verbal, written, and presentation levels.Health Care Information Systems (HCIS) provides and supports information and communication systems and technology that facilitate quality patient care, progressive medical education, and innovative research. RegularEducation RequiredBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or Healthcare Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Required QualificationsTypically, 5-7 years of experience with Epic reporting tools and content experience.Working knowledge of SQL with ability to write complex queries and performance tune.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.Desirable Qualifications:Experience with Python, R.Experience working with any BI application, such as Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects, or other related tools/application.Experience in recognizing business problems, conceptualizing, recommending, and developing solutions.To be considered, applicants must upload a resume (under submission relevant materials) that clearly addresses how they meet the listed required and desired qualifications of this position.
