The Role

We seek a detail-oriented and analytical Category Specialist to manage procurement categories and support our Bill of Materials (BOM) cost initiatives, and support the product roadmap by being embedded since the initial stages of new component concepts that will drive cost down, improve the quality and feel of our Veev home. This role that will be pivotal in developing and maintaining a procurement BOM and supplier database, conducting in-depth cost data analytics, and facilitating market and supply research. The ideal candidate will work closely with Group Managers and the Director of Procurement to ensure our procurement strategies are data-driven and aligned with organizational goals.As strategic partners, the Procurement team strives to ensure that our values, culture, and engagement always allow us to do great things for our company. This position will be part of the Procurement team that supports Veev’s Manufacturing and Engineering operations. You will report to the Procurement Director and collaborate with other Procurement and Supply Chain team members located at our headquarters in Hayward, Ca.

Responsibilities

Cost Data Analytics:

Analyze BOM cost structures and identify opportunities for cost savings.

Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to interpret data trends and inform decision-making.Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accuracy in cost tracking and reporting.Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential suppliers and benchmark pricing.Stay updated on industry trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies that could impact procurement strategies.

Supply Research:

Evaluate supplier reliability and performance through quantitative and qualitative assessments.

Maintain an up-to-date database of suppliers, including capabilities, performance metrics, and cost structures.BOM and Supplier Database Management: Develop and maintain a procurement BOM that accurately reflects material requirements and associated costs.Ensure the supplier database is comprehensive, current, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.Supplier Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).Collaborate with suppliers to address performance issues and implement improvement plans.

Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with Group Managers and the Director of Procurement to align BOM strategies with organizational goals.Provide analytical support for negotiations, sourcing strategies, and supplier selection processes.Assist in the development of presentations and reports for senior management.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify and implement best practices in procurement processes and data analytics.Participate in cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and innovation in procurement strategies.

Qualifications

2+ years’ experience in manufacturing, distribution, finance, or supply chain managementBachelors or Masters in Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineering or similar discipline or equivalent experienceExperience in a manufacturing environment (preferably working with medium-to-high volume products) with knowledge & experience in converting and communicating demand requirements for products into detailed plans and schedules for inventory acquisitionExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills in developing, implementing, and assessing key operational and financial metricsDemonstrated skills in supplier operational and relationship managementExcellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $120,000 - $150,000 annually for Hayward, CA and surrounding areas.
