Manager of Power Cost Forecasting

Supports corporate planning and rates and regulatory affairs by providing financial modeling to develop accurate wholesale revenue and power cost projections for business planning and customer rate making. Includes conducting adhoc decision making analyses for evaluation of potential contracts/products. Manages corporate budgets, generates forecasts, and serves as internal consultant on financial matters related to wholesale revenue and power costs for the organization. Creates advanced financial models of scenarios for future business planning and ratemaking decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Management:
Manages team of finance professionals who specialize in advanced financial modeling. Responsible for providing economic and financial modeling for wholesale revenue and power costs to support corporate projects and/or functions; manages corporate budgets, generates forecasts, serves as internal consultant on financial matters for the organization and plays an integral role in ratemaking; oversees the creation of financial models of scenarios for future business planning decisions; provides technical management of a financial modeling team, ensuring that agreed objectives are met and all relevant standards/procedures are followed; ensures that operational problems are identified and resolved; ensures that operational procedures and working practices are fit for purpose and current.
Financial Management:
Monitors and models transactions, ensuring that all financial targets are met, and examines any areas where budgets/expenditures vary from plan with robust variance analysis reporting; assists with the definition and operation of effective financial controls and decision making.
Resourcing:
Oversees resourcing decisions and planning for a team of four individual contributors, partners with HR in the definition of jobs, recruitment, evaluation and selection processes.
Professional Development:
Reviews organizational development needs and training strategies to determine required learning and development outcomes for the team; provides guidance in the creation of development plans; monitors ongoing progress and provides coaching and mentoring and provides feedback; completes annual performance management reviews.
Education/Experience/CertificationsEducation:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering or other related field or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Prefer eight or more years in related field.

Compensation Range:$116,410.00 - $216,190.00
Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
