Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Senior Catering Sales Manager is actively involved in partnering with management on a daily basis in securing, qualifying and following up on leads to book specific business. In addition, detailing and planning of the functions will be an integral part of the position. This position aids in providing day to day leadership to the entirety of the Catering Sales office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.

Works directly with Marketing to create and implement sales plans.

Compiles monthly FDA End of Month report for VP of Hotel Operations.

Works directly with the Banquet Chef to update Banquet Menus.

Updates and tracks the yearly expenses budget for the department.

Updates all Sales Lead websites (i.e. Cvent and Wedding Wire).

Serves as Corporate Administrator for Salesforce, including assigning User IDs, updating Banquet Menu items, uploading weekly backups, running weekly discrepancy reports between operating systems, updating guest room types and entering Holidays (yearly).

Responsible for maintaining a professional rapport within the local business community as well as the meetings and event industry to generate leads.

Maintains association enrollment including, but not limited to Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP), Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE), Meeting Professionals International (MPI), and Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA).

Attends industry trade shows and conferences on behalf of the department and FireKeepers Casino Hotel.

Prepares sales-related contracts and documents; negotiates details, special concessions and guestroom rates with clients, and creates Contracts, as approved by Tribal Legal Council.

Works directly with clients in detailing events by creating Banquet Event Orders and diagrams. Maintains communication with clients through the entire booking and planning process.

Identifies and maintains constant communications with clients and the hotel’s key accounts through the entire booking and planning process.

Proactively sells meeting space and Food & Beverages to catering needs that meet or exceed budgeted revenues.

Utilizes customer relationship management software, hospitality management software, word processing systems or similar on a daily basis.

Demonstrates a commitment to guest service by responding to guests’ needs in a timely and proactive manner.

Quickly utilizes effective problem resolution skills.

Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.

Maintains flexible hours in order to best assist sales groups.

Demonstrates working effectively with tribal communities and tribal entities with cross-cultural communication skills and understands tribal cultural orientation.

Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.

Understands and executes all Human Resource responsibilities in relation to the department, including department scheduling, annual employee reviews, etc.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include maintaining sufficient staffing levels; interviewing, hiring and
