The
Strategic Sourcing Specialist
is responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive value with innovation and competitive advantages that benefit customers, suppliers, and patients. This position will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence, industry knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration. Competitive advantage will be created through supplier selection and management, contract negotiation, supply chain optimization, and risk mitigation.
Physical demands may include, but not be limited to, specific vision abilities including near vision/acuity and visual color discrimination.
The work environment may include exposure to a heated/air-conditioned indoor office/manufacturing/cleanroom setting with adequate ventilation and lighting and outdoor environments with varying temperatures. The noise level may vary from quiet to loud. Employees must be willing and able to wear various types of PPE, including, but not limited to, respirators, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing, as required by the job to ensure safety in potentially hazardous conditions. Specific cleanroom requirements include employees needing to inform leadership about any health condition that may have an adverse effect on products, as well as compliance with gowning protocols.
The company is a radiopharmaceutical manufacturer and radiation may be present in manufacturing and laboratory areas. Employees may be required to be monitored using company provided dosimetry and bioassay testing.
Responsibilities
Lead efforts to source and select key suppliers having core competencies and capabilities that support corporate direction.
Negotiate Master Supply Agreements and evolve supply-line work flows that deliver competitive advantage and strengthen supplier relationships.
Work with quality assurance representatives to qualify suppliers, measure performance, and regularly re-evaluate supplier ranking.
Engage suppliers in company business activities where prudent; including design development, design reviews, cost management, and problem resolution.
Analyze domestic and global economic trends, major commodity price fluctuations, changes in supplier status, and supply chain costs to capitalize on opportunities and/or protect company positions.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies that offer contingencies for sole source situations, scarce/allocated material scenarios, and global geopolitical concerns.
Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers with set meeting times and agendas.
Provide timely, accurate, and complete reports on supply chain conditions to executive management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or other related discipline and minimum three (3) years of experience in purchasing and sourcing complex and unique designs globally; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
