If you want to make an impact in the Atlanta community by engaging with and inspiring Jewish teens, read on! The BBYO program at MJCCA is looking for awesome talent to join our team as a BBYO Assistant Director.

The BBYO Assistant Director plays a key role in the success of BBYO by working closely with teens to create strong programs, develop leadership skills, and enhance their chapters. This is an amazing opportunity to inspire Jewish teens to do great things.

Us:BBYO Atlanta Council is a 92-year-old program in the Atlanta area and an integral part of the MJCCA’s Teen Department. The BBYO Assistant Director will work in partnership with the BBYO staff to oversee the programmatic standards set for the 11 chapters, their leaders, and the council leadership, as well as conventions and city-wide programming.

The BBYO Assistant Director will:Mentor teens and deliver leadership trainingManage and maintain all chapter bank accountsAdminister the 8th/9th grade recruitment process and placement of teens in chaptersInspire teens to embrace their Jewish journey by representing and teaching BBYO culture, Jewish values, and executing Judaic programmingOversee chapter boards including their communication to members/parents, elections, programming, and problem-solving chapter issues under the direction of the BBYO DirectorDevelop relationships with other teen professional staff throughout Atlanta, as well as other community professionals who work with Jewish teensAttend and supervise teen programs and BBYO conventions as scheduledEstablish an annual program calendar for each chapter based on principles of AZA and BBGTrain teens as chapter leaders to run meetings, plan calendars, recruit new members, ensure program excellence, and create meaningful programs that attract other teensServe as leadership staff/facilitator at designated BBYO summer programs for 2-3 weeksAssist with the planning, recruitment, and staffing of BBYO conventions and programmingGeneral Programmatic Support:Manage email communications, mailing lists, social media, and marketing in partnership with the Marketing DepartmentManage all program location bookingsOther responsibilities that may arise as needed to support BBYO and Young Adult ProgrammingWhat You’ll Learn as an Assistant Director:How to run a small business as you develop skills in budgeting, membership, marketing, sales, HR, and event planningHow to analyze and track data to drive decision-makingGlobal thinking as you work with an international team across organizational and geographical boundariesInfluence and leadership acumen as you inspire others to actionRelationship building as you network with and travel to other JCC and BBYO communitiesRole Requirements:1-3 years of work experienceA Bachelor’s Degree or higherExperience working with youth or teensFlexibility with working non-typical 9-5 workdays; willingness to work nights and weekends, as needed
