Geomatics Survey Equipment Operator

to join our team.ResponsibilitiesOperation, transport and setup of laser scanners, robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other reality capture and land surveying equipmentLand surveying including boundary line, topographic survey, construction stakeout and utility surveysReality Capture activities, including UAV flights, photogrammetry, and laser scanningReconnaissance and recovery of land surveying markers through use of hand tools and diggingConstruction stakeout of proposed improvements, including installation of stakes through use of sledgehammers and hand toolsOperation and maintenance of surveying equipmentDocumenting all phases of survey work through clear field notes and data collectionSkills and AttributesProficient in reading, understanding, and evaluating the significance of survey, right-of-way, engineering, and architectural drawings with respect to each survey projectAbility to learn the proper use of GPS equipment and Robotic Instruments and mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of geometry and trigonometryAbility to learn and understand the basics of boundary, topographic, construction, and utility surveysAble to think criticallyExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with survey staff and clientsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED0-1 year of experience using standard survey equipment (i.e. RTK GPS, total station, levels)Valid driver’s licenseLaser scanning experience is a plusMust be willing to travel and stay overnight for assignments outside local area (anticipated to be less than 15% of assignments)Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Washington, DC is $20/hr-$25/hr. The final compensation is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.We are VHB!
