Position Summary:Responsible for supervising and leading a team focused on operational activity including material follow-up, supplier compliance, and customer escalation. Supervises hourly associates and is responsible for performance management and first point of escalation. Actively involved in the hiring process as well as customer interactions. Responsible for reporting out KPIs that drive the business based on customer requirements. Partners with a team of hourly associates to develop processes that exceed customers' day-to-day expectations. Actively looks for continuous improvement opportunities to streamline the team's daily processes and activities.This position is located at the Penske facility in Dearborn, MI. Candidate will be supervising a team that works 5 days onsite Monday - Friday (8am-4:30pm) during launch and training. We will then migrate to a hybrid model of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote Monday - Friday (8am-4:30pm). This is subject to change if the business dictates a need to be back in the office 5 days a week. As a supervisor and leader of this account, you may be asked to work hours outside of a standard 8am-4:30pm Monday - Friday schedule.This position is bonus eligible up to 12% of your base salary for Max Performance.Major Responsibilities:People:Communicate and drive performance standards.Lead a team of hourly employees (includes performance review, corrective action, and goal setting).Provide detailed instruction to various personnel via email and phone.Ensure the team is fully staffed; play an active role in hiring and developing talent.Monitor attendance.Act as next level escalation for customer inquiries.Operations:Assist with new customer process implementations.Prioritize time-sensitive situations.Work with the team to provide excellent customer service.Drive the team to meet customers' KPIs and ensure they are met on a daily and weekly basis.Track parts to ensure on-time delivery is met.Analyze process data and work on continuous improvements.Identify process gaps and streamline inefficiencies.Ensure all business needs are covered, including when there are vacations, illness, etc.Other projects as assigned by the manager.Qualifications:2 - 4 years of experience in the logistics/supply chain industry.Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.Previous experience in a supervisory role.JDA Transportation Management System experience preferred.Must have strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.Strong customer focus.Must be skilled in problem-solving/process improvement.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time-sensitive situations.Advanced desktop computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook required.Must be able to learn and regularly operate various computer systems across different platforms.Ability to lead and develop a team of hourly associates.Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers as well as Penske personnel.Team player with flexibility in working different shifts.Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening.Physical Requirements:The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
