Location: Naval Weapons Station Indian Head, MarylandScope of Performance:
Qualified Hydraulic Specialist to support maintenance, repair, and installation of explosive and chemical processing equipment. Technician will work in all explosive and chemical processing areas as determined by management or COR. Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements. Technician will also support varying shifts including night shifts.Key Responsibilities:Routine maintenance, repair, installation, and modification to existing or new process equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and filters.Troubleshoot, repair, modify, and conduct preventative maintenance on complex mechanical and processing systems.Measure and test hydraulic equipment to prevent future failure and restore to operating conditions.Help to design hydraulic systems and fluid power systems.Assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, including pipe support systems.Use pipe threaders, benders, machine tools, and general hand tools.Knowledge in brazing, soldering, and threading joints.Knowledge in blueprint reading and blueprint symbols.Education and Experience:Prior hydraulic experience in the manufacturing field required.High School Diploma or equivalent.Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.Ability to pass Explosives Handler physical and Respirator Fit test.Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification class.Sound technical skills.Sufficient knowledge of mathematics.Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.).
