The nature of the work will require that the candidate demonstrate initiative and responsibility and be flexible and adaptive to a fast-paced and fluid business environment. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee all aspects of the plant manufacturing operations to include: production quotas and analysis, quality control, scheduling of raw materials, equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, inventory control, personnel management and environmental compliance.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintains the highest standard of quality and safety in all areas of production from manufacturing to shipmentOversees efficient plant operations related to production and schedulingManages the schedule and performance of production maintenanceEnsures the plant maintains proper stock inventories (raw materials, machinery/vehicle parts, etc.)Supervises Asst. Plant Manager, Drivers, and YardmanCommunicates with Area Manager and other departmentsMaintains a clean fleetCoordinates fleet maintenance with truck shopCoordinates plant maintenance with welding shopManages APM programPerforms month-end inventoryDevelops relationships with plant sales reps and customersManages CODsMust be able to run front-end loader when neededRequired to work a schedule that varies from week to weekRequired to work long hours during peak seasonsOther duties may be assignedQUALIFICATIONSTo be successful in this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and possess the following:Two years related experience and/or trainingA working knowledge of the programming functions of all current plant systemsAn understanding of all aspects of concrete production and the types of products producedAn understanding of QC/QA for the ready-mix concrete industryA working mechanical knowledge of all plant related equipmentKnowledge of production equipment, production processes, and maintenance programsA commitment to team concepts, a sense of ownership and urgencyStrong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with all managers, employees, vendors, and customersExcellent problem-solving skillsWorking computer skillsBENEFITSMedical/HSA/Dental/Vision/SurgeryPlus401k (matching up to 4%)TeladocEAP (Employee Assistance Program)
