Job description

As a Senior Project Manager in our heavy civil construction firm, you'll be at the helm of complex projects involving heavy highways and bridges, guiding them from inception to completion. Your role requires a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You'll drive project performance, craft and implement actionable plans, and lead efforts to achieve operational goals. Collaboration with key stakeholders and meticulous management of project elements will be critical to your success.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight:

Lead and manage construction projects related to heavy highways and bridges, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.

Strategic Contributions:

Offer strategic insights and recommendations to support planning, reviews, and decision-making for major infrastructure projects.

Action Plan Development:

Create and implement detailed action plans for project execution and enhancements, focusing on complex civil engineering elements.

Issue Resolution:

Proactively identify and resolve project issues, implementing effective solutions to mitigate risks associated with large-scale infrastructure projects.

Task Delegation:

Assign tasks efficiently to team members, including Project Coordinators, General Superintendents, Superintendents, Field Staff, Payroll, and Contract Administration.

Performance Monitoring:

Track and assess project progress, ensuring alignment with both short-term and long-term project objectives.

Project Planning:

Develop and communicate comprehensive project plans to clients and internal teams, with a focus on heavy civil construction requirements.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the General Superintendent to synchronize activities and address challenges related to highway and bridge projects.

Financial Oversight:

Review and approve field timesheets and invoices on a weekly basis, ensuring accurate financial management.

Change Management:

Manage change orders effectively, adjusting plans as needed to accommodate project changes and scope modifications.

Leadership Development:

Foster leadership skills within the team to enhance project management capabilities and overall team performance.

Skills and Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale heavy civil construction projects, specifically including heavy highways and bridge construction.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.

Proven capability to delegate tasks and monitor project performance effectively.

Expertise in developing detailed project plans and handling financial documentation.

Familiarity with Viewpoint, B2W, and HCSS software is highly desirable .

This role is essential for steering the successful execution of our heavy civil construction projects and contributing to the growth of our division.
