Company Description
Our goal is to be the Energy & Beverage category experts and the only reasonable choice when retailers decide on an Energy Drink/ Beverage Category Partner or look for strategic expertise in the Energy/Beverage space. Reporting to the Senior Director, Shopper and Category Insights, you will lead the North American Category Insights team in the development and communication of our category insights. You will manage syndicated sales data and deliverables, and lead new category insights plans that grow the category and our influence with important retailer partners and our teams (Executive Leadership Team, Sales Leadership Team, Distribution, Trade Marketing, and Shopper Marketing). You will collaborate with these teams throughout the selling cycle to develop insights that help identify customer-facing strategies, opportunities, and solutions.
Job Description
INFLUENCING SALES STRATEGY VIA INSIGHTS DELIVERY
Uncover sales opportunities and provide leading edge fact-based insights to inform our sales strategy, growth, and Category growth by merging data from across resources (i.e. Circana, Numerator, Mintel) to tell the most compelling story
Produce and deliver weekly and monthly category insight presentations to inform important internal partners across departments (i.e. Leadership Teams, Category Development, Sales, Marketing, and Distribution)
Drive key insight deliverables that support the annual Business Planning process, such as Year End Review, Annual Insights Kick-off, Customer Marketing Agreements
Connect with partners to identify potential insight needs and help develop and deliver an Insights Learning Plan that provides unique insights to support our teams
DATA MANAGEMENT
Be an expert in Circana data including application of metrics and tools to develop relevant insights
Manage our relationship with Circana and our Circana data resources, ensuring seamless weekly and monthly deliverables of accurate data and using Circana's client team support to maintain model integrity, handle data issues, and plan for longer-term projects
Ensure that our approach to syndicated database design is evolving with CPG, beverage, shopper and retail trends by evaluating current solutions and recommending new data solutions
Manage alternative insight source partners and deliverables - Nielsen, Mintel, PDI, 1010 and Euromonitor
Partner with Circana and other vendors to provide training to allow new and active users to use available data and ensure adoption of new data/tools
DATA OPTIMIZATION
Manage the current category insights reporting suite across all retail data sources with a continuous improvement mindset for content and delivery
Partner with Circana, Data Science, and IT to develop reporting solutions for the broader organization and provide training on new data tools
Inspire our teams by socializing insights from data resources and using new data/tools
Field and manage data issues and questions from our teams, connect them with vendor partners, and help find solutions to improve overall efficiencies with our data resources
Identify meaningful ways to connect 3P data with other available internal data sources to develop meaningful insights
TEAM MANAGEMENT
Lead direct reports towards shared goals and desired outcomes
Provide team members with knowledge about shopper and category analytics, CPG, retail, brand, category, and shopper dynamics and build training programs based on team developmental opportunities
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in consumer goods, retail, or syndicated data with a focus on category management, sales, business analytics, or shopper insights.
DSD Beverage experience.
Experience using and employing syndicated data, customer card/POS data, and panel data to increase sales and share growth (experience with data sources such as Circana, Nielsen, Numerator, 84.51, dunnhumby, Luminate, Mintel, Euromonitor)
Working knowledge of CPG retail landscape, sales drivers, merchandising, & execution
Experience with additional analytic programs an advantage (i.e., Tableau, Microsoft Access, PowerBI, ProSpace, SQL, VBA, Alteryx)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Must be fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage
Additional Information
The base salary range for this position is $137,000 to $152,000 + cash incentives
Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience.
The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
