To service and repair heating, cooling, and ventilation systems for residential and commercial customers in a safe and professional manner.
Essential Functions
Diagnosing issues and conveying to the customer in a comfortable and professional manner what repairs and/or maintenance is recommended.Making major repairs on HVAC systems such as changing compressors, evaporator coils, heat exchangers, condenser coils, major motors, etc.Testing/maintaining furnaces, heat pumps, tankless water heaters, air conditioners, etc.Completing annual preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, clearing condensate drains, cleaning burners and changing/cleaning air filters. As well as testing and collecting system operation data such as: refrigerant pressures, gas pressures, electrical data, etc.Complete any miscellaneous tasks as required by Technician or Installer, or Supervisor.Report on time to shop or directly to the first call assigned to you for the day.Maintain safe work habits.Help maintain safe and clean work area, building, parking lot, and company vehicles.Maintain and care for all shop tools, machines, and required equipment.Keeping an open line of communication to your direct Supervisor in regard to job status and/or parts required.Represent Schagrin Home Comfort Products in a professional and courteous manner at all times.Schedule Requirements
Available to work 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM approximately, Monday through Friday.
Please note that the workday ends when the last call is completed, not exactly at 4pm each day. Your actual clock out time may vary from day-to-day depending on the calls.
Minimum Qualifications
2-5 years of previous education and experience in the HVAC field required.Universal EPA refrigerant certification preferred.Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and diagrams.Capable of reading rulers and accurately computing measurements.Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds.Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.Mechanical aptitude and good problem-solving abilities required.Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and move freely in the performance of the position.Capable of handling work environment that is indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.Job requires working at heights using ladders or platforms, as well as working in crawlspaces and confined areas.Must comply with Schagrin Home Comfort Products and DOT drug testing policy.Physical Demands/Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
