General Statement of Duties

Assists departments with complex analysis, planning, preparation, justification and administration of their annual operations and capital projects budgets, variable revenue and non-County funding sources; coordinates and participates in work sessions; performs a wide variety of routine and complex duties to prepare assigned departments' fiscal year budgets and related documentation for inclusion and presentation in the County's annual fiscal plan and capital expenditures plan; does related work as required.

Essential Duties

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) year degree in accounting, finance, public administration or other relevant field of study; and four (4) years of relevant responsible experience in complex budgeting and fiscal management of large departments and budgets with diverse funding and revenues sources and capital improvement budgets; OR, any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Additional Information

Positions from this posting may be filled at the Budget Analyst I, II, III level depending on the qualifications of the successful applicant and the needs of the organization at the time of hire.

The minimum requirements and salary range for the Budget Analyst I and II are listed below:

Budget Analyst I

($55,005.67 - $101,185.51)

Four (4) year degree in accounting, finance, public administration or other relevant field of study; and one (1) year of relevant experience in budget or financial administration preferred; OR, any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Budget Analyst II

($60,413.25 - $111,133.01)

Four (4) year degree in accounting, finance, public administration or other relevant field of study; and two (2) years of relevant responsible experience in budgeting and fiscal management of large departments and budgets with diverse funding and revenues sources and capital improvement budgets; OR, any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

May require a valid driver's license to perform assigned duties at various locations Countywide.
