We have exciting nursing opportunities available in the OR Department at IU Saxony in Fishers, IN! - Must Have 2 years Nursing Experience. This role will be scrubbing in for cases and needs to have the baseline knowledge of an OR

A OR nurse entails setting up of the operating room prior to the time an operation is to be carried out. The scrub nurse work description also involves selecting the right instrument to be used during any stage of the surgical procedure and presenting same to the surgeon.

OR nurses perform various duties, tasks, and responsibilities working with surgeons.Support the surgical team during procedures.Follow any instruction laid down by the charge nurse.Create and maintain positive, personal, and warm atmosphere around the patient and their family.Gather all equipment and supplies for surgical procedures.Prepare the operating room for the procedure.Restock all supplies once they are used on periodic basis.Monitor surgery inventory and notify the appropriate authorities when there is need for resupply.Circulate and scrub for the surgeons involved in surgical procedures.Operate several surgical equipment and perform certain technical tasks in accordance with the standards and policies laid down by the employing institution.Seek assistance when required and learn certain skill related to the job at hand.Care for patients with regards to their individual medical data, such as previous surgical procedure undertaken, age level, and health status.Document procedures concisely, completely, and in line with the policy lay down by the institution.The Clinical Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of Indiana University Health, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.

Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.About Us
