Summary :

Contribute to the achievement of the Chubb Excess Casualty Division objectives while maintaining profitability. Located in Los Angeles OR San Francisco; this position is responsible for managing the regional underwriting operations and production growth/profitability of underwriting business in the Pacific region.

Responsibilities :This position involves planning, coordination, and implementation of the Chubb Excess Casualty Business Plan, developing sales and cross marketing strategies to ensure that the Chubb Excess Casualty presence, commitment, and capabilities are maximized in the region, expanding existing relationships where appropriate, developing competitive information, and recommending cross marketing sales initiatives.Implement underwriting objectives by review, evaluation, selection and pricing of individual risks.Maintain service standards by timely response to broker request and timely submission of quotations, cover notes and policies.Provide statistical analysis of market condition, loss experience, profit results of underwriting programs and other data as needed.Manage regional underwriting operations and production growth/profitability of underwriting business in the Pacific region.Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of underwriting products and concepts, as evidence by 10+ years experience in the insurance arena or related field.Demonstrated knowledge of all principles and details of the casualty product lines. Excess casualty experience preferred.Extensive knowledge of the local insurance environment a mustExceptional communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to maintain effective communications, both internally and in the market place. Management experience preferred.Ability to market and produce profitable new business, balanced between marketing and technical skills.Commitment to provide superior service to customers and clients.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.Ability to self-manage, organize and prioritize work with limited direction.Must be familiar with MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook.

The pay range for the role is $117,000 to $189,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
