We are seeking

a

full-time Financial Aid Specialist

who will serve as a primary contact for the Financial Aid Department providing assistance to students and parents regarding all types of Federal Financial Aid, State and Scholarships. In addition, the Specialist will be able to assist with processing of financial aid functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintains working knowledge of Federal Student Aid Handbook, as well as any other federal, state, and local regulations for administering financial aidAdvises prospective students, continuing students, and regarding financial aid application procedures, verification procedures, financial aid eligibility requirements, student facing college financial aid information and policies, and the availability of federal, state, and institutional financial aid.Assists students with providing the documentation necessary to process verification and/or incomplete files needed to determine aid eligibility.Performs verification on selected student financial aid filesUpdates Satisfactory Academic Progress on individual studentsImports ISIR from Department of Education, manages corrections, and COD recordsHandles confidential material and communications; adheres to FERPA.Runs daily financial aid reportsAssists at front counter & working with students

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS

60 college semester credit hours or 18 months of full-time related experience and/or training in processing student financial aid at the postsecondary level; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

An Associate degree and two years of full-time experience processing student financial aid at the postsecondary level.
