Position PurposePosition is responsible for assisting the Leadership of Hospital Medicine in leading Renown Health's Hospitalist Medical Group. The role will be instrumental in developing a patient centered approach that will drive the practices, strategies, and performance of primary care within the medical group and the Integrated Health Network (IHN). This role will serve as the leader of the provider reporting structure for hospitalist providers and will be required to work with administrative and physician leadership to drive performance including but not limited to patient experience, clinical outcomes, utilization, transformational healthcare, and financial outcomes.Nature and ScopePrimary Position Responsibilities* Incumbent will serve as the coordinator of medical education for providers and supporting training, orientation and on onboarding of new employees. The incumbent shall work closely with the division chief of hospital medicine to develop educational content for division of hospital medicine meetings and M&Ms.* Incumbent will need to work effectively with other physician leadership and executive leadership.* The role will maintain a positive relationship and act as liaison with all providers in Renown hospitalist group and others necessary to execute the initiatives needed to drive outcomes.* The incumbent will work to see that provider engagement is being improved. The role is key in seeing that provider retention, morale remains high, and that recruits see Renown Health as a great place to work.* The role will develop clinical best practices for Renown hospitalist group standardizing care based on evidence-based medicine. The incumbent shall work with systems including EMR that incorporate evidence-based medicine protocols and order sets.* The role shall work with systems to maximize efficiency, quality, and outcomes.* Scheduling of physician and APRN staff.* Participate actively in the recruitment, selection, and on boarding of new providers, including orientation to multi-disciplinary team processes.* Provides regular performance feedback and coaching to ensure the providers professional development and resiliency.* Participates in peer review process as appropriate* Development of APP integration to the full scope of their license with the physicians* Assist in an efficient and expeditious operation of the practice providing input on budgets, billing, equipment, staffing and yearly goals and objectives. Interacts closely with administration to develop goals and provide ongoing assessment to achieve objectives, consistent with Renown Health strategic plan(s).* Work with providers to manage and monitor goal achievement.* Serves as medical director for patient experience (Renown hospitalist group patients only) and medical director on call (Renown hospitalist group patients only).* Representation at committee and utilization management as requested by the chief medical officer, Renown acute care services.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:* Strong organization skills with attention to detail* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills* Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff* Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint* Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals* Ability to translate ethical and legal requirements into practical and sustainable policies, balancing the needs of the business and the interest of patients and member physicians a like* Ability to provide expert medical advice* Successful history as a practicing physician* Strong ability to build and sustain relationships in the medical community and a corporate environment Health plan experience in operations* Experience in a physician group model* Handle a high volume of denials and proactively handle with proficient skillsDisclaimerThe foregoing description is not intended and should not be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and efforts or work conditions associated with the job. Requirements - Required and/or PreferredNameDescriptionEducation:Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking EnglishExperience:Minimum of five years recent clinical practice experience. Minimum of five years of management/leadership experience within a large medical organization and demonstrated success. Experience with transformational healthcare required.License(s):Must possess and maintain a current and valid State of Nevada Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) medicine license. Controlled substance License to Prescribe issued by the State of Nevada and Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the DEA, required.Certification(s):Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine or Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine. If Provider is Board Eligible at time of hire, Certification must be obtained within two (2) years of employment.Current and valid BLS and ACLS issued by The American Heart Association requiredComputer / Typing:Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.Ability to credential through Renown's Medical Staff and/or payor credentialing, as applicable.
