The Role:
Supervises the management of the Accounting Department and prepares financial statements and reports.
Responsibilities:Manage and produce financial statements for internal and corporate personnelMaintain General Ledger.Generate monthly/year end corporate reportsGenerate monthly/year end General Ledger journal entriesReview for payment all Accounts Payable vendor invoices for account accuracy and adherence to corporate policiesVerify and co-sign vendor check for payment.Verify wire transfer by bankMaintain FAS (Fixed Asset System)Maintain Capital Projects listAssist CFO with annual budget preparationInterface with external and year-end auditorsOverall supervision of Accounting DepartmentPerform other duties as assigned by supervisorPhysical/Mental Requirements:
Constantly attend to details, sit, talk, hear, reach, eye/hand coordination, hand and wrist motion and manual dexterity in writing and in the use of telephone, 10-key calculator keypad and computer keyboardOccasionally reach, bend, and lift boxes weighing up to 20 lbs.Occasionally walk, reach, and lift in the use of the photocopy machineWorking Conditions:
Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment, on a carpeted floor, either alone or with others.Exposure to paper and/or dust particles.Subject to outdoor temperatures.Exposed to smoke, bright lights, and noise.Operation of various machines and equipment including but not limited to shredders, copiers laminating and binding machines, computer equipment.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related area from a four-year college or university, or four-six years' experience in accounting or equivalent combination preferred.Ability to use a 10-key calculator, telephone, photocopy machine, binding machine, and computer.Must possess effective communication and organizational skills.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents such as technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.Ability to respond to common injuries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 20 lbs.Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.License Requirements:
Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation Gaming License
