Business Analyst

Work Location: This position is Hybrid Job Description : We are seeking a Business Analyst to support the Michigan Department of Education's (MDE) Grants Management System. This system handles over 130 grant applications and processes payments exceeding $2 billion to state educational entities. The Business Analyst will manage work requests for web application support and gather requirements for project initiatives, acting as the key liaison between the technical team and business clients. Responsibilities : Facilitate meetings between the technical team and business clients to gather project specifications and requirements. Lead independent requirement sessions to define project needs. Manage and maintain a backlog of work items in Azure DevOps for operational and project needs. Oversee project tasks, timelines, and communication between business product owners and development teams, following the Change Management lifecycle. Track sprints and ticket progress in Azure DevOps, ensuring adherence to change management policies. Serve as the liaison for State of Michigan auditors and manage project documentation on the SharePoint site. Provide management with status reports and resource demand projections. Ensure that tasks are completed with a high level of detail and critical thinking. Required Skills: Experience in the software development lifecycle and managing work requests for web applications. Proficiency with Azure DevOps for tracking tasks and managing sprints. Strong project management and communication skills to liaise between technical teams and business clients. Ability to manage and document tasks effectively in a SharePoint environment. Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.
