The FCAW Arc Welder 1G constructs, fits, and welds components using drawings and pre-cut parts. You must be capable of reading drawings, weld symbols, and weld procedures. These must be assembled and welded per stringent quality standards and meet all specified codes. The use of all basic steel fabrication tools is needed and expected.
Responsibilities
Prepare posts, frames, rails, or assembles for weldingVerify all dimensions with the approved shop drawingsVerify welding is in accordance with the specific codes and weld proceduresAdjust welding equipment as neededMake fixtures as necessary to improve productivityMake backing bars if neededPerform welds as specified and directed by your supervisorClean and prepare finished products for inspectionKeep your personal tools and assigned tools and equipment in proper working orderCommunicate with your supervisorWork must be completed in a timely manner consistent with the best in the industryRequirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required
FCAW 1G or 3G experienceInterpret weld proceduresAbility to be crane certifiedAbility to be forklift certifiedUnderstand AWS codes and proceduresMust be able to read and utilize a measuring tapeAble to sit 2% of the timeAble to Stand 90% of the timeAble to walk 30% of the timeLift up to 75 pounds 10% of the time
Environment
This job requires outdoor work and indoor in all weather conditions with extreme temperatures. Majority of work is done indoors in a heated area.
Schedule is M-Th 6am - 4:30pm F 6am - 2:30pm Saturday's as needed
Hourly Pay Range:
1G - $18.00 - $23.69 DOE
3G - $19.00 - $25.00 DOE
