General Information

Work Location : 5213 4th Avenue Circle East, Bradenton, Florida 34208

Work Hours : Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Performs specialized clerical/technical administrative duties, requiring high attention to detail, in support of Employee Health Benefits (EHB) programs. Provides customer service support and administrative tasks via phone, email, and in person to eligible members including plan eligibility, enrollment, termination, and life events within the scope of the Health Benefits policies and plan documents.

Retirement SpecialistGuide employees through the retirement process by meeting with employees to provide options of continuation of medical, dental and vision benefits.

Calculate medical premium subsidy eligibility.

Organize and conduct retirement informational sessions at multiple locations throughout the County.

Coordinate meetings with supplemental insurance broker and retiree.

Collaborate with supplemental insurance broker on new enrollments, changes and terminations of insurance coverage.

Reconcile insurance premium reports with the Fiscal Benefits Specialist monthly to ensure all retiree premium payments are balanced and correctly reported in the system.

Act as a liaison between the retiree and Aetna to resolve retiree coverage issues.

Track retirees becoming Medicare eligible and overage dependents to send notification of options.

Annual reporting to FRS for premium changes for next plan year and premiums paid outside of FRS for tax reporting.

Conduct retiree annual enrollment.

Working ConditionsIndoor/office situation; high noise environment while performing certain responsibilities. Lifting equipment up to 25 lbs. alone; up to 50 lbs. with assistance.

Job Description

Provides basic guidance to employees regarding enrollment and eligibility, and compliance with federal regulations. General understanding of EHB's Plan Document and policy documents.

Schedules and conducts meetings with eligible members as needed to explain all available benefits administered by EHB.

First point of contact for coordination and implementation of annual and special events, like new hire and open enrollments, for eligible members.

Creates and audits reports for various entities related to the administration of the health and retirement benefits.

Performs other related work (including weather or extreme emergency duties) as required.

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduate/equivalent.

Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in health insurance, employee benefits administration, or a related field.

Valid driver's license required with valid Florida driver's license required within 30 days of hire.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
